The growing town of Harpersville, Alabama, is located in Shelby County, southeast of Birmingham along US 280, with boundaries reaching the Coosa River. Covering a land area of more than 21 square miles, Harpersville houses a population of about 1,700 people.

Harpersville was first settled at the end of the War of 1812 and originally called Big Springs. Today, with the motto “Rich Past, Bright Future!”, Harpersville is growing along with the expansion of business on Highway 280. The town is home to Morgan Creek Vineyards and Baker’s Christmas Tree Farm, among several other thriving businesses. Two structures in Harpersville are listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the Chancellor House and the Old Rock House. Old Baker Farm is a popular attraction just outside of town.
